GONE: U.S. foreign aid saved lives.

Too many myths undercut the good work the U.S. does around the world. With a budget that is less than one half of one percent of the federal budget, the U.S. government's funding, influence and leadership led the way to historic improvements in global health. Faith-based organizations have been vital government partners, and faith leaders and communities have been crucial advocates.

American foreign helped communities around the world as they work to end extreme poverty, support the advancement of human rights, promote resilient democratic societies, and spur inclusive economic growth. American foreign aid still represents the highest ideals of who we are as a nation: generous, principled, and free.

With the dismantling of the U.S. Agency for International Development, USAID, and the dramatic decrease in humanitarian aid and development, including WASH, let us use our faith voices to advocate for all children, near and far.

U.S. foreign aid is critical if fragile nations are to continue to make progress on health, economic growth, and good governance—key building blocks to improving lives, the global economy, and ensuring global health security. This work builds economies, supports peace, and advances American values.

GONE: Effective U.S. Global Water Strategy

Before the dismantling of the U.S. Agency for International Development, this government agency helped fund secular and faith-based organizations doing effective WASH work.

Now WASH funding has been
short-sightedly and dramatically reduced.
